imitoCam and imitoWound are apps for doctors to capture medical pictures and medical videos quickly and in compliance with data protection regulations, and integrating all of this seamlessly into the existing hospital software. Especially useful in departments treating wounds, but they are also often used in the emergency department and 34 other departments.
Back in 2015, our CEO Chrysanth Sulzberger discovered that 56 % of doctors in hospitals used their private smartphones for medical photography. This posed a security risk and was a constant breach of hospital compliance guidelines. This had to change - so he brought Manuel Studer on board, and together they founded imito AG.
The University Hospital Basel became our first customer in 2016, banning patient pictures from their private photo gallery with the help of imitoCam. Taking medical photographs is just as easy as taking private photographs because doctors can just use the same device model for both.
With imito installed on the professional device, now medical pictures are immediately linked to the patient name, specific hospital stay, author and are stored in the PACS/EHR. All data remains on the hospital servers.
Whether in dermatology, surgery or neurology - imitoCam is used in over 35 specialist areas. Instead of the struggle handling various apps for doctors, imitoCam provides them with one unified tool to take patient pictures. It can even record medical videos of up to 10 minutes, which is very helpful in neurology, dermatology or after a surgery, and that's why some doctors call imitoCam the "neurology app", "dermatology app" or "surgery app".
As a side effect of the broad use, imitoCam also encourages interdisciplinary collaboration. The app for doctors and medical staff makes it easy to obtain second opinions, either via the integrated imitoCam chat or by accessing the electronic patient file.
imitoCam thus contributes it to the hospital digital transformation in numerous disciplines: In acute geriatrics, anaesthesia, surgery, dermatology, diabetology, gastroenterology, vascular surgery, geriatrics, gynaecology, ENT medicine, head and neck surgery, internal medicine, intensive care, internal and oncological rehabilitation, cardiology, paediatrics and adolescent medicine, minimally invasive surgery, musculoskeletal medicine, neonatology, nephrology, neurosurgery, neurology, emergency clinic, orthopaedics, physiotherapy, plastic surgery, pneumology, psychiatry, radiology/nuclear medicine, stroke clinic, pain therapy and palliative medicine, septic surgery, urology, visceral surgery and, of course, wound care.
Get in touch, and we will be happy to put you in contact with doctors from your department at other hospitals so they can tell you their real opinion about our healthcare apps for doctors.
One of the most frequently mentioned advantages of imitoCam is what a difference it is to see the medical pictures within seconds in your EHR software/PACS software instead of going through a tedious transfer process. Thanks to the seamless integration into your existing hospital software and other medical applications (EMR/EHR and PACS/VNA systems via FHIR, HL7, LDAP SAML and DICOM), the captured med photography is available in your electronic medical records software in a matter of seconds.
This means that doctors can access the medical pictures at any time and use them for their work. Florian Dietrich's Customer Success Team will help you with our medical imaging software and is available to answer any further questions and requests.
The staff from the medical technology department at Thurgau Hospital once said: "The direct collaboration with imito is always very pleasant. The team is always listening and is open to receive feedback for future functions. We don't have that with all our suppliers, and with imito it's particularly pleasant."
Thanks to the automatic measuring functions, the width, length, circumference and area of skin lesions and wounds can be precisely recorded - imito's measuring method is scientifically validated.
Medical pictures can also be intelligently categorised. Dynamically add new #hashtags for your team, e.g. for a discussion in a #derma-board meeting.
The hashtag function also facilitates secondary use for wound research and teaching by allowing relevant images to be found quickly. In addition to the hashtags, we are also happy to help you to record individual medical data just as you need it for your hospital.
In addition to imitoCam, there is also our imitoWound solution, which specialises in wounds. This app for doctors was specially developed for wound documentation and helps them to digitally record and monitor the wound healing process.
The best medical apps may all be characterised by their intuitive usability. imitoCam offers a user-friendly interface that is quick to use in everyday clinical practice - which is why there is even an offline and emergency mode. In the 21st century, all you need for med photography is a standard Apple (iOS iPadOS) or Android smartphone or tablet.
No additional hardware is required. It is also compatible with specialised medical devices such as the Myco from Ascom and the Cobas Pulse from Roche Diagnostics. You can also access the web version from any desktop computer.
Hospital digital transformation is progressing, and a medical photo app is an essential part of becoming a digital hospital. With imitoCam and imitoWound, doctors have two quick, flexible, and secure medical documentation software and healthcare apps that can be used in over 35 hospital departments. They save doctors time and allows them to focus more on their actual tasks. Our imito team makes it possible!
