In this study published in "Die Dermatologie," the University Hospital Leipzig examined whether imitoCam, used as a teledermatology tool in an inpatient setting, saves medical and nursing capacity, reduces the risk of infection, and improves interdisciplinary communication.
The results are promising: 47.5% of the participating physicians estimated the time savings compared to bedside or outpatient consultations at at least 30 to 60 minutes, and 90.9% rated the technical implementation, including integration into the SAP hospital information system, as good to very good.

During the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in spring 2020, internal patient transfers and consultations on other wards were to be reduced as far as possible to prevent infections. Against this backdrop, and given the previously costly and time-consuming consultation process, a telemedicine solution was sought, and imitoCam proved to meet exactly these requirements.
